King John’s Castle is located in the heart of Limerick’s Medieval Quarter, on King’s Island, overlooking the River Shannon. The castle is within easy walking distance of Limerick city centre and is well connected by road and public transport.

Limerick is well connected by road from across Ireland. King John’s Castle is easily accessible from Dublin, Cork, Galway and other major towns and cities.

Limerick’s main bus and train station, Colbert Station, is approximately a 15–20 minute walk from King John’s Castle. Regular bus and train services connect Limerick with destinations across Ireland.

The castle is located in Limerick’s Medieval Quarter and is within easy walking distance of many of the city’s main attractions, restaurants and accommodation.

Travelling from Shannon Airport? The airport is approximately 25 km from King John’s Castle, with bus and taxi services available to Limerick city.
